Samantha Grace Lewis is an artist, early childhood educator, and urbanist based in Queens, NY. Her work explores the intersections of language, community, and space, drawing inspiration from her experiences growing up along the Harlem Line in New York.

Rooted in translanguaging pedagogy, social constructivism, and the Reggio Emilia approach, her teaching and creative practices emphasize collaboration, storytelling, and how people—especially children—make meaning in their environments. Through a multidisciplinary lens, she investigates how urban landscapes shape identity, agency, and cultural expression.

As a co-creator, Samantha has contributed to collaborative projects featured in various public and private spaces, institutions, and media platforms, including The New School University, Bank Street College of Education, The Museum of the City of New York, TriBeCa Community School, WNET Channel Thirteen, WNYC Radio, The Village Voice, TWU Local 100, SEIU, Picture the Homeless, VOCAL-NY, ChaShaMa…

Sam's work often engages with communities to explore the relationship between the physical environment, materials, and how people learn, utilizing visual art, sound, and interactive installations to foster dialogue and participation. She seeks to cultivate spaces of inquiry, reflection, and collaboration.
